LABUAN: Pakatan Harapan’s election manifesto is just an attempt to fish for votes, says Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
He said the people must not be deceived by propaganda.
“What is important now is to evaluate the promises Pakatan Rakyat made in the 13th General Election, especially in Penang, as they have not been fulfilled until today.
“As such, how can we believe it (the new manifesto) can be realised?” he said after launching the Labuan Barisan Nasional election machinery yesterday.
He said the soon-to-be-unveiled Barisan manifesto would be a genuine one that would gain the people’s confidence and trust, because it could be translated into reality.
Commenting on the sovereignty issue of Sabah as listed in Pakatan’s manifesto, Hishammuddin said those who were not well-versed with the situation might believe it.
“That is why I’m going to Sabah to explain to the people there that only Barisan can preserve the security and sovereignty of the state,” said Hishammuddin, who is also Defence Minister. — Bernama
